Brother Oliver and Barry McGunthrie Jr. Get Rowdy with New Video + Live Show

Psychedelic folk rock outfit Brother Oliver and southern sensation Barry McGunthrie Jr. have a few tricks up their sleeves.

The combo recently joined forces over hilarious country comedy single “My Pastor Bought a Brand New Sports Car” — a satirical take about a preacher getting caught redhanded with the church offering plate — and now they’re getting together to perform this Friday night in Greenville, South Carolina.

“The whole project was a break from the norm and a chance to make something fun, but also very meaningful to us”, says Andrew Oliver of Brother Oliver. “We recorded the song together and couldn’t stop playing it back over and over and over. We felt like we had something that people could really connect with.”

Oliver adds that Joey Thompson (aka Barry McGunthrie Jr.) had “a grand vision for the video, which was gonna require like 6 days of shooting, multiple hired actors, and multiple locations. I felt like there was no way we were going to pull it off in the window of time that we had. Lo and behold, Joey was a mad man of a director and everything came together and we were able to shoot it exactly how he envisioned.“
